In mid ’97 the idea of combining two genres of music was on the threshold of creation. The five individual musicians, who shared the same musical goal, set forth to merge the aggressive, hostile, rhythm attack of "Death Metal" with the clean melodic color of progressive passages. All, which is accented by atmospheric keyboards, slippery dynamic bass, and powerful drumming. In September of ‘97, "Into Eternity" recorded a two-song demo. One of the songs, "The Modern Day", appeared on a compilation CD, released by "Meathead Records". This CD "An Anthology Of Underground Music in Canada Vol.2" was released in every major city in Canada. In ‘99, their debut, self-titled album was released. Recorded at Touchwood Studios, with the help of Grant Hall, Into Eternity compiled and produced their 9-song, full length CD. The anticipation of the album by the general local scene exceeded the expectations of the band. This CD was the foundation to take the band to a new level of opportunity. In February ‘99, Into Eternity entered the "Kickstart Your Career" contest. The Wolf 104.9, of Regina, SK. hand-picked 16 of Regina’s best bands and C-95 of Saskatoon, SK hand-picked 16 of Saskatoon’s best bands. The band ended up a co-winner of the entire competition. In June ’99 the band entered the "Minedosa Classic Rock Weekend" competition and ended up as finalists (which was not a small feat for a metal band). In October ‘99, Into Eternity also took first place out of 16 bands in the "Upstage 1999 Battle of the Bands" competition. Brave Words and Bloody Knuckles, a very reputable metal magazine, releases monthly compilation CD’s and reviews of the bands featured in the CD. In February 2000, the track, "Sorrow", from the bands self-titled CD, was featured on their compilation disc. In July 2000, the track "Silence Through Virtue” was featured on another one of their compilation discs, both to be released across Canada and the United States. The track "Sorrow" was released on a compilation CD through Garageband.com; an online band-war in which the winner receives a $250,000 record contract. Into Eternity ended up ranking 12th place with their song "Holding Onto Emptiness". The track "Silence Through Virtue" will also be featured on a compilation CD to be released and distributed through X-Ray Records. Once Into Eternity became a more familiar name from the consistent good reviews from metal media outlets such as Metal Maniacs, Brave Words & Bloody Knuckles, Legion, Rock Brigade, Exclaim, Durp, Edge of Time and Metal View to name a few, they caught the attention of DVS records, a recording label based in the Netherlands. Into Eternity will be re-releasing their debut CD, and a forthcoming CD through them. With some changed artwork, and a bonus track, the new CD was released in September 2000 for worldwide distribution. Into Eternity’s music is now being played on some college and commercial radio stations in Canada, Europe and the States. The band has also done countless interviews with local as well as international media outlets. Into Eternity has independently distributed about 2000 copies of their debut CD just in Canada and the States in record stores such as H.M.V., The Last Unicorn, Indie Pool, and X-Ray Records to name a few. Into Eternity’s CD will be made available through your local record stores. Final preparations are near completion for the fall release of Into Eternity’s second album and their accompanying European tour.

just picked up the new album 2day, "the incurable tragedy" it fucking rules! stu's vocals are beyond insane...but i do miss Jim austin's playing style,but the album still kills!!!

the most similar band to Into Eternity out there is Scar Symmetry who are also amazing and I definitely reccomend them, will I see any of you up in Worcester Mass October 15 with ICED EARTH!!!?
