  • May Tour . Secondary Market Ticket Alert

We want to be blatantly clear that purchasing tickets like those linked below WILL NOT allow entry to any of the shows in May.

Please DO NOT PURCHASE these or any other secondary market (CraigsList, StubHub, brokers, scalpers, etc.) offerings.

    http://www.onlineseats.com/iron-wine-tickets/buy.asp

As the Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York venues are on the smaller side, no hard tickets were issued for these shows. A photo ID with the name that matches the name of the will call order will need to presented on the night of the show.

The secondary market offerings do not have actual hard tickets to sell you. They are a SCAM. If you purchase, the name on your photo ID will not match the will call order, which means you will have spent a lot of money and will not be able to get into the show.

We don't want to see any of our fans lead astray or taken advantage of with these shows. The will call only policy was put in place to ensure that scalpers and brokers would not be able to sell hard tickets at inflated prices. The offerings like those linked above are even more damaging as they are not an actual ticket.

    Thanks for the support!

  • Around the Well

On May 19, 2009 Iron and Wine will issue Around the Well (Sub Pop), a 2-CD/3-LP collection of rare tracks ranging from out-of-print to never-before-released. In support of Around the Well Iron and Wine will be performing ten intimate shows in five cities. Each individual show will be wholly unique, as Iron and Wine will turn the set list over to the fans to create. In addition, Iron and Wine have begun work on the follow-up to The Shepherd’s Dog and plan to release a new album in spring, 2010.

    Around the Well
The tracks collected on Around the Well span from Iron and Wine’s earliest sessions which yielded the band’s debut (2002’s The Creek Drank the Cradle) through material recorded for 2007’s The Shepherd’s Dog. The double-disc collection is broken up into two sections. The first half is an assortment of hushed home recordings, unedited and raw, and the second highlights moments captured in the confines of proper studios with the help of other musicians, friends and engineers.

The album’s title comes from a line in the song “The Trapeze Swinger,” a fan favorite which was written for and included in the movie In Good Company. Three more songs written and recorded for the film finally make their appearance here as well: “Belated Promise Ring,” “God Made the Automobile” and “Homeward, These Shoes.” Around the Well also brings together hard to find covers such as The Flaming Lips’ “Waitin’ for a Superman” and New Order’s “Love Vigilantes,” along with one of Iron and Wine’s earliest originals, “Sacred Vision,” which appeared on a compilation for Sound Collector magazine.

  • Iron & Wine . Austin City Limits TV

Iron & Wine had the honor of recording their debut performance at the Austin City Limits television studio earlier this year. The episode is set to begin airing on November 15, 2008 and will feature the following songs.

    Each Coming Night
    Love And Some Verses
    Upward Over The Mountain
    Boy With A Coin
    Trapeze Swinger

"We've had Sam Beam here before, but not in a full band performance," said ACL producer Terry Lickona. "For this show he assembled a brilliant cast of musicians who add a completely new dimension – or two – to his songs. 'Trapeze Swinger' is a real stand out."

Iron & Wine will share the televised hour with Aimee Mann. More information is available after the link below.
