JC Cassis is a singer/songwriter/producer/performer of dance-pop music based in New York City, where she performs regularly. After a few years of collaborating with others, she learned all the skills needed to be completely self-sufficient and now makes all of her music from scratch on her own in her home studio. Her music is constantly being remixed by producers all over the world. If you would like to remix her music, send an email to talktojccassis AT gmail DOT com and she will send you the wav files you need.
JC is a first place winner of Amateur Night at the Apollo Theater in Harlem, NYC, where she sang Whitney Houston’s “I Have Nothing," had a number one hit on internet radio, and was a finalist in the International Songwriting Competition.
JC is a native New Yorker, Harvard graduate, and speaker of Spanish, Portuguese, and French. She was born on Halloween to an English mother and Scottish-Sicilian-American father. She attended the Spence School in Manhattan before going on to Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts. JC has written music since the age of 8, but began taking singing and songwriting more seriously during her sophomore year of college, when she joined a student funk/rock band, Natural Progression. After the band broke up, JC continued to write music with various collaborators and accompanists including Tom Lowe of North and South, Socrates Cruz of Moniker and Mike Zolfo, before striking out on her own to pursue a solo career.
JC is currently working on her debut album, Four on the Floor, to be completed in fall 2009.
