The New Zealand group JCK are pioneers of a free form of rap music called haberdash rap. JCK are heavily influenced by Hip Hop but also have an equal afinity with Funk, Rock, Pop, and Industrial music. Recognised for their potential in 2004 they were signed to respected indie label Pagan/Antenna records and then later in 2007 picked up by Indie Label Locked Down And Dope Records. The group started out entering music competitions with local urban radio stations which gave them a sizeable amount of radio airplay and the first tastes of recognition. In 2005 they were successful in recieving funding from New Zealand on Air and recorded their debut single 'Freak in the club' with an accompanying music video that took the nation by storm and played on all of New Zealands music television shows for a good part of a year. The group has just finished filming their next two music videos in preperation for the release of their debut album titled '5 year anniversary' which is available already electronicaly & through mail order through all good internet music sights such as Apple I tunes and CD Baby.
