I really enjoy Elgar's concerto in E minor and Du Pre's interpretations of Elgar are deep, moving and breath taking. Beyond exquisite. I can listen to this for weeks on end (and did...it played repeatedly in my car for 6 months)

I consider myself honored to be able to write a brief message on this wall. I only wish I were erudite and articulate enough to give a fitting tribute to such an amazing performer.
Cleche though it is, I adore Elgar's Concerto in E minor as she played it. Simply breathtaking. Let's get some more people to add her to their "iLike" lists!

As a child I was deeply impressed by the energy coming from her cello playing - it was Haydn's Cello Concerto in C maj.
I've discovered her other recordings since and she's just my favourite. It's not only about being musically-correct or to display a perfect technique. It was about life, just simply! Like Maria Callas, Sergiu Celibidache or Glenn Gould.
