(Los Ángeles, CA - Febrero 9, 2009) -- Jaguares celebro una gran noche cuando fueron reconocidos con el mayor premio de la música, el GRAMMY. "45," el álbum más reciente del grupo recibió el premio como Mejor Álbum Latino de Rock Alternativo.
Al recibir el mayor honor de la Academia, Saúl Hernández, líder de la banda comento, "Este GRAMMY se lo queremos dedicar a la raza, a los Aliados, a toda la gente que nos ha apoyado, y a que "45" sea una cifra que quede en el pasado." Al referirse al título del álbum, que hace referencia a los 45 millones de mexicanos que viven en la pobreza extrema.
La prestigiosa ceremonia se llevo a cabo en el STAPLES Center de Los Ángeles y conto con la presencia de las más grandes estrellas de la música internacional. El rock latino se vio representado por todo lo alto con este gran triunfo de la banda formada por Saúl Hernández, Alfonso André, Cesar López "El Vampiro" y Marco Rentería.
Este álbum, que ya alcanzo disco de oro en México y Estados Unidos, es el primero después de 3 años de ausencia de los estudios.
Jaguares / Caifanes han lanzado 10 álbumes, vendió más de 15,000,000 y colaborado y / o de gira con muchos artistas, incluyendo Morrisey, Stuart Copeland, Adrian Belew, Don Was, The Rolling Stones, David Hidalgo (Los Lobos), Mark Isham, Billy Preston , Flaco Jiménez, Tigres del Norte, Juan Gabriel, La Internacional Sonora Santanera, Peter Gabriel, Live, Estopa, Red Hot Chili Peppers y muchos otros. En 1997, Hernández incluso se asoció con el legendario cantante Cheb Khaled para grabar en español- árabe la cancion "Ki Kounti".

The legendary rock band received the award for Best Latin Rock/Alternative album
(Los Ángeles, CA - February 9, 2009) - It was a great night for music when JAGUARES, was recognized with the greatest award in the music industry, the GRAMMY. "45," their recently released album received the award for Best Latin Rock/Alternative album.
Saul Hernandez, leader of the band said after receiving award, "We dedicate this GRAMMY to la raza, to our allies, to all the people that have supported us and we wish that "45" be a number left in our past," in reference to the 45 million Mexicans that live in extreme poverty which is also the title of the album.
The prestigious ceremony took place at the STAPLES Center in Los Angeles, and included performances by the biggest stars in the music world. Latin Rock was highly represented by JAGUARES and their big and successful night!
The band, formed by Saúl Hernández, Alfonso André, Cesar López "El Vampiro" and Marco Rentería, went back to the recording studios after 3 years and released the successful album, "45" which was recently been certified gold in the U.S. and Mexico.
Jaguares / Caifanes have released 10 albums, sold more that 15,000,000 and collaborated and/ or toured with many artists, including Morrisey, Stuart Copeland, Adrian Belew, Don Was, The Rolling Stones, David Hidalgo (Los Lobos), Mark Isham, Billy Preston, Flaco Jiménez, Tigres del Norte, Juan Gabriel, La Internacional Sonora Santanera, Peter Gabriel, Live, Estopa, Red Hot Chili Peppers and many others.
