Good news!
James have made a recording of a semi-legendary unreleased song available as a free download through the official website, www.wearejames.com.
Not So Strong
Not So Strong was first performed during a low-key gig at Hoxton's Bar and Kitchen in June 2007, and became a regular feature on the setlist throughout the rest of the year. It quickly established itself as a fan favourite, and many of you expressed shock and disappointment when it did not appear on Hey Ma.
Gone but not forgotten
Happily, Not So Strong wasn't consigned to oblivion... Those of you who saw James perform in Europe this summer will have noted its triumphant return to the set. The band have just finished recording the song during sessions for the next album, and are distributing this recording to James fans online, free of charge.
Tim says: "The song is about a boxing match. A genre of one unless you count Simon and Garfunkel's 'The Boxer'. I am interested in the paradoxical sense of peace that can arrive at the moment when you feel you have lost everything."

Last of the Summer Festivals
The band have recently returned from their first trip to Poland, where they performed at the Coke Live Music Festival in Kraków prior to headliners the Killers, before dashing back to the UK to appear on the Main Stage at the V's in Stafford and Chelmsford. Oasis's last minute cancellation of their headline slot at Chelmsford meant that James were able to play a significantly extended set which was broadcast live on Absolute Radio, some highlights of which are available to listen to online here.
These shows marked the end of a busy summer festival season for the band, and after a short break they'll be back to work on the next record.
Stay tuned.
