Jason Upton was born on December 15, 1973 and was adopted three months later. He grew up in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and began singing at the age of 15. During this time, he won awards and successfully traveled around singing in churches around the country. After marrying his wife Rachel in 1995, the couple had an encounter with God that changed their lives and caused them to question whether or not they were impacting people for Christ. While earning their Masters of Divinity degrees from Regent University in Virginia, the couple set up a worship room in their home where they regularly gathered with others to pray and intercede. It was during these times that they realized that the songs God gave them during worship were not simply songs, but keys that opened and shut doors in the Spirit. Since that time Jason has been invited to sing all over the country and the world.
