Jeepstar is producer/songwriter John Paul Irvine (myself) and singer/songwriter Sarah Barnes, plus various guest musicians. I started out recording bands in the basement of my house in Aberdeen, Scotland, in the early 80s and progressed to writing and recording my own material as well as collaborating with others in a variety of musical ventures. I now live in London where I continue to write and record music, mainly in the dance and pop genres but I also like to rock out with my guitar! Sarah, who hails from Banchory, Aberdeenshire, has been in bands since the age of 12, developing her distinctive and powerfully soulful vocal style along the way. She is now based in Glasgow where she regularly sings with alternative pop band 'La Chunky'. In 1999 we won a place in the top 10 of the UK Roland Groovebox contest with a song called 'Connection', travelling to London for the final, where DJ Sasha thought we were the best act on the night.
