She has opened for Ray Charles, filled-in for Aretha Franklin and Gladys Knight, and has recorded on more than 100 albums. Now, after years of laying down her vocal finesse on albums for other musicians, Jenny Jordan Frogley has given her voice a face. At age three, Jenny began her career touring with the rest of the “Jordan Family Singers.” It was at that time that she also began playing the piano. In eighth grade she joined the regional youth symphony playing the viola and spent her high school years bouncing between choirs, theaters, and the orchestra. But at age 17 she landed her first recording gig and Jenny found herself making the pivotal decision to leave home and pursue a professional music career. “I realized early on that music was going to be my ‘thing’,” Jenny says. “It all seemed very natural to me. I enjoyed practicing even at a young age, and spent hours on the piano every day singing and playing, making up songs and learning new chord progressions. And then, as I attended college I realized I wanted to record more than anything.” While studying Music/Dance/Theater in college, Jenny perfected her performing expertise singing and dancing in theaters across the country and at Opryland USA. She also entered the world of songwriting and production as she joined a Midwest communications company writing and producing jingles for radio and television – four of which won her Addy Awards for excellence in advertising. Pursuing her love of the theater, Jenny landed her dream role as the narrator in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at the Tuacahn Amphitheatre and Center for the Arts, a stage lauded as “Broadway in the Desert.” But perhaps the theatrical moment where Jenny best demonstrated her unparalleled abilities was the night she filled-in last minute for a leading soprano and sight-read an entire oratorio in front of a sold-out concert hall “without any mistakes.” But then again – Jenny is no stranger to filling-in. At the 2002 Winter Olympic torch lighting ceremony, Jenny performed in place of Aretha Franklin (who had originally been booked), and in 2005 she found herself chosen yet again to stand-in for Gladys Knight in front of a crowd of more than 20,000. Ever the engaging performer, Jenny has wowed stadiums and arenas with her sugar and spice voice that is just as at ease in the realms of classical music as it is pouring on the pop. One of Jenny’s personal career highlights was performing with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir as a guest soloist. After recording live with the Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra Jenny toured throughout Europe, performing in cathedrals across the continent – a striking contrast to her spunky Radio City Music Hall debut in front of another sold-out crowd. And her recording career is as varied as her concert appearances. Offering vocals on more than 100 albums, Jenny has recorded everything from commercials for CBS, the Discovery channel, the sci-fi channel, and Disney to film soundtracks as well as classical, pop, and inspirational albums. Her first solo-produced album was for a full-length feature film and finally, after years of recording for others, Jenny recorded a self-titled debut album in 2005 showcasing her prolific songwriting abilities and signature power-vocals. Her second solo album, Beautiful Life, hit stores in 2008 and establishes, once again, Jenny’s ability to lead the pack in inspirational pop.
