  it's weird... other people you can kind of tell who they were influenced by. for instance, basically everyone good sounds like they were influenced by the beatles. but you have this incredible, haunting sound that belongs only to you. awesome.

  I think Joanna's getting sick of playing The Book Of Right-On (understandable). I Say this cause when I bought The Milk-Eyed Mender in 04 the crazy harp solo wasn't there and she changed how the song was sung (I've seen like 4 different ways!). I like Joanna's first album better because it feels more melodic, however, i must admit she really finds herself in YS... Btw pairing her with Coheed and cambria? I dunno, i guess they both definitely have the range for it...

  YS is my favourite album since In The Aeroplane Over The Sea, which is my favourite album ever, so that's saying something. I love how sometimes, she does crazy things with her voice that even Jeff Mangum wasn't comfortable trying, and when he did try it, it wouldn't work, (last 15 seconds of Oh Sister). There's a huge amount of wild music, but there's nothing quite the same as Joanna Newsom, so in that way, she's very similar to Jeff Mangum.
