JONAS AND PLUNKETT Who are they? Jonas and Plunkett come from London. They live there and work there. Jonas is into TV and is often seen on it as a presenter. He reads the news and sometimes tells people where they should go on their holidays. He loves it, but not as much as singing his own songs. Plunkett is a doctor. He?s got a silly name, but he doesn?t mind. He helps poorly children get better. He does this because he loves it, but not as much as singing his own songs. What do they sound like? Imagine Simon and Garfunkel getting together in 2007 and writing some songs about love and stuff. Then imagine them without really big hair. That?s a bit like Jonas and Plunkett. They have been described as ?a contemporary answer to Simon and Garfunkel?, and ?absolutely beautiful?, and ?quite nice boys?. They play music without much fuss ? they just use a guitar and their voices. Their friend, Francesca, is really good at the cello and she sometimes plays with them. And sometimes they even use a piano or a saucepan on their songs. Do they have an album? Yes - they've just finished their second album. It?s been produced by a brilliant record producer called Mike Hurst, who knows Cat Stevens and other cool people. He made it sound even better than it already did, and he picked out some great songs from the Jonas and Plunkett songbook. The album is called ?This is who we are?, but it might be called something else. It will be in shops and on the radio in the Summer 2007.
