  Although you knew that a lot of your hard work had become a success in RENT, you probably couldn't have anticipated the impact that RENT has had not just in musical theater but in the world. I have loved RENT from the first time I saw it on stage in New York in 2003 and I greatly admire your work. Not only has great and beautiful music been made, but great messages have been conveyed as well. Thank you, Jonathan.

  It saddens me that you never got to see the impact your work has had on the world. You were and are truly one of the most influential people in the history of American theatre, Thank you for the hope you gave and give us all daily.

  RENT is seriously one of the best films, musicals, and soundtracks in the history of the WORLD!! I wish Jonathan Larson could have been around to see how popular it has become.
