Greetings,
Well, things have been pretty crazy lately. First off, my middle brother Jonathan, 25, was officially diagnosed with cancer at his appointment a few hours ago at the UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento. We had been told that it was a possibility several weeks ago, but they needed to run more tests before they would know for sure. Turns out they finally tell him it is cancer, but now we have to wait some more to know exactly what kind and what the next step will be. At this point, they are not saying if it is terminal, but then again they really are not saying much.
I was talking with him on the phone a few moments ago and he seemed to be in good spirits. I think he -- like the rest of us in the family -- are still in denial a bit. It's so hard to wrap my mind around the whole thing. This whole thing is really in God's hands so all we can do is sit back and be supportive and attempt to get the best medical care we can for him.
I'll do my best to keep you informed on what we find out. I'm assuming I'll be taking a few more trips back to California over the next few months. I really am in shock about all of this and truthfully it hasn't hit me yet. It doesn't seem real.
I'm off to pick up one of my good friends from the airport who's visiting from Sacramento, Calif., for the weekend. I'm sure we're going to have a lot of fun despite this discouraging news.
Thank you all for your kind words and support; it really means a lot and helps me though times like this.
