    I had the lucky good fortune to see Judee live when she opened for Crosby & Nash in 1971. She came on stage all dressed in white and looked like an angel. Sang like one too. I've been a big fan ever since. Very funny when I went to order her album (not yet in stores) because my name is so similar. Scenario played out like a who's on first. Yes I know the name of the artist, what's YOUR name? ha ha.

    I'd like to thank the other fans on here - I discovered Judee's music after reading Barney Hoskyns "Hotel California", and was completely blown away by her. Far far ahead of her time, she was maybe too far ahead, maybe too ethereal to be accepted by the early 70's music scene. Heartbreakingly sad what became of her, but her music burns in memory of her.     I just discovered this amazing artist from the 70s , who wrote such beautiful music and lyrics! What a wonderful surprise! She was the first artist that David Geffen signed to his Asylum label, releasing just 2 albums. But shortly afterwards she disappeared from the music scene. She died in 1979 of a drug overdose. Her live BBC recordings 1972/73 are a treasure. Japanese singer Rika Shinohara does a beautiful cover of Sill's "Jesus Was A Cross Maker" that is on Youtube, and Jane Siberry has r... More...
