I put this group of friends and musicians together to help me make my first solo record. I have been playing guitar in bands since I was 15 years old. Long ago I moved to Los Angeles, and joined the Go-Go's, who needed a bass player. I put down the guitar and had a nice run with that group, and when we disbanded, I started putting bands together and focusing on my lead guitar playing. None of the bands were very successful, but I got better, and more confident, and finally decided "why not make a solo record??" I am proud because it's the first time I have ever been the lead singer, the lead and rhythm guitarist, the songwriter and the producer. The song "Retouch Me" represents only one aspect of my CD, I hope to put more songs on GarageBand - I love this site, and have really enjoyed reading the reviews. I especially get a kick out of it when a reviewer assumes the guitarist is a male!! The nicest thing about making your own record is not having to have every idea be approved by anyone, I had fun trying anything I wanted and doing any style I wanted. I will definitely play live shows soon and also make another solo record next year.
