After a long career as the lead guitarist for a variety of groups, Larry embarked upon a solo career as a composer and performer on the acoustic guitar six years ago. Settling in Birmingham, Alabama, he released Cobb Lane in 2000, which features original songs, such as Remembering Jenny, as well as arrangements of traditional Celtic tunes, like Galway Shawl. Larry has shared billings with Alisdair Fraser, Michael Mannring, and Ken Bonfield, and has released his second CD, Music for the High Country, A Soundtrack for Blowing Rock. The music is a blend of original compositions, as well as traditional classics, arranged in Larry’s unique style, encompassing both his solo acoustic guitar, and his outstanding chamber ensemble known as the Acoustic Earth Orchestra. Four of the songs from the new album are featured here, and available for download: A Song For Kathryn, The Ride, Music for the High Country, and Shenandoah. Another song, Jaime Marie, as yet unreleased, will be featured on the next album. Hope you enjoy.
