LEMON is a UK artist, the alter-ego of producer, DJ and multi-instrumentalist Nick Hollywood.
Nick was one half of the team responsible for the seminal and hugely successful London night CLUB MONTEPULCIANO, which ran for over 11 years and was described by Time Out in 2004 as one of the “things you have to do before you can call yourself a real Londoner”. They pioneered the UK Lounge, Cabaret and proto-Burlesque scenes, before setting up the label CLUB MONTEPULCIANO RECORDINGS, through which they released a series of influential compilations (including the ‘Bongo Beach’ series and ‘Showgirls and Sugardaddies’), the debut LEMON - FRESH! EP and LEMON:UP! album, a string of sold-out 7” singles, EPs, and the work of various other acts.
In 2005 Nick launched the new label Freshly Squeezed Music. Amongst their first releases was LEMON’s second album “With a Twist” (ZESTCD001).
Tracks from LEMON have been licensed to numerous compilations worldwide and can be heard in adverts internationally. LEMON songs also appear on the soundtracks and trailers to many Hollywood movies including Knocked Up, The Heartbreak Kid, License To Wed etc and frequently crop up on TV series including several tracks in Ugly Betty.
