Music has been an integral part of Lincoln Brewster’s life since early childhood. His mother, an accomplished musician, introduced him to the mandolin at age five. He quickly mastered the instrument and began playing alongside her for cruise ship tourists in his hometown of Fairbanks, Alaska. However, it was the electric guitar that truly caught his heart when he was only nine years old.
That love for the guitar took him down a winding road that included a stint playing for rocker Steve Perry (Journey) and recording offers from mainstream labels all before he was 21. However, Brewster, who had made a commitment to Christ in his late teens, walked away from the promise of rock stardom and instead took a position at his local church as a sound technician.
He remained faithful at that church, eventually taking on youth leadership and worship leadership responsibilities. Several years later, he crossed paths with Integrity Music in Mobile, Ala., finding a label home that allowed him to record the modern, rock-tinged worship for which he has become known.
To date, Brewster has recorded four albums with Integrity - - a self-titled debut, Live To Worship, Amazed and All To You. And, in late 2006, the label released Let The Praises Ring, a “best of” collection that includes 15 favorites and two, new bonus tracks.
Married to his high school sweetheart, Laura, and father of two young boys, Brewster currently serves as worship leader at Bayside Church in Granite Bay, California. He also makes time to tour and often appears at major festivals and conferences including CreationFest, Kingdom Bound and Hillsong Conference. He also serves as an instructor for Seminars4Worship events around the U.S.
“I’m so glad to be where I am right now…” Brewster says. “The things going on in my life right now just make sense in the global scheme of what God’s called me to do. I just want to help people connect with Him in the best way possible. If nothing else, I just hope I can be used to accomplish that purpose.”
