Rock, pop, folk, experimental; Dark, light, and everything in-between, Maggie Walters continues to sound racier and edgier than her singer-songwriter peers while maintaining a charming effortlessness. With the help of her producer/band-mate Paul Leary, Butthole Surfers’ guitarist and co-founder, Walters' elegant lyricism shines through her wide display of styles, each song commanding respect and opening conversations, with one common thread- her irresistible voice. Walters’ songs have garnered national attention and have been played on radio stations throughout the country. Her music has appeared on television shows including NBC's hit series "Life," and "Friday Night Lights," and she has composed music for CNBC with SugarHill's Dan Workman. Walters has been featured on The Bob Edwards Show, XM Radio’s RADAR Report, KUT’s inaugural podcast, was an ArtistDirect semi-finalist for the Ultimate band competition, Editor’s pick on Download.com and has been covered in Mix Magazine. She was a South by Southwest Music Festival Showcasing Artist three times, one of Music Connection Magazine’s Top 100 Independent Artists of 2008, and the internationally syndicated Acoustic Cafe's Artist-to-Watch in 2008. Backing Walters on "Midwestern Hurricane" is an extraordinary line-up of musicians including members of the Butthole Surfers, Spoon, The Gutter Twins, Lyle Lovett's Large Band, and legendary Faces alumni Ian MacLagan. A turbulent few years after arriving on the Austin scene and scoring exceedingly well with critics and DJs, Walters is back with the release of her new album, coming Spring, 2010.

"Another Living Room" from Maggie's self-titled EP was featured this week's episode of NBC's hit show Life entitled "Black Friday." The episode originally aired on November 12.

Recent Recording Session at Texas Treefort Filmed for Documentary

Stay tuned for footage of Maggie working on her new album at Jack Rock's Studio featuring members of Spoon, the Gutter Twins, the Butthole Surfers, and others.

Recording started on September 12 in Austin with Bill Munyon overseeing the videography.
