Marian Call is hard at work reinventing, or possibly preinventing, her musical self. She has been singing in public since she was knee-high to a grasshopper, and since that time she has performed music in nearly every genre -- classical art song, musicals, gospel, pop, country, rock, folk, jazz, and all kinds of choral music. She's currently hard at work learning what she's made of up in Anchorage, Alaska, by recording, writing, and performing as hard as she can, and though Anchorage is home, she tours out of state whenever possible. She aspires to have an actual band someday. Her first album, Vanilla, is available now (directly from the artist) through mariancall.com. She also records several new songs per month so as to someday have a back catalog. These are available on Snocap at www.mariancall.com (and soon on iTunes!).
I just bought the album on a lark from Quantum Mechanix, and I wanted to say it's great: my best random "discovery" of the year =). keep writing stuff like this (and more Firefly stuff, if possible =)

Just heard about your album "Got to Fly" through quantummechanix...and I love love love your sound! "Dark Dark Eyes" is my favorite. If you find yourself east of anywhere on the west coast, please do consider stopping by Houston.
