Martina makes her second appearance on The Oprah Winfrey Show in barely a week as she follows her performance this past Monday on Oprah's State Fair of Texas episode with a return visit on November 3rd. Last Monday's show actually taped two weeks prior but the amazing part was that Martina got the call on a Friday and by Monday morning was on the Texas stage singing. This time, the Oprah segment takes Martina to her home state of Kansas with only a couple days notice.
The theme of the November 3rd show is celebrities' "first jobs," and who better to be one of the featured guests than Martina who served up ice cream and burgers at her hometown DQ. Oprah's crew took Martina back to revisit the Hutchinson, Kansas, Dairy Queen which is still owned by the same couple who employed Martina after high school.
"Getting the call to be on Oprah's show twice in such a short time period was exciting," admits Martina. "I've done Texas and Kansas ... maybe Oklahoma is next," Martina jokes.
Martina also recently taped a segment in Nashville for In The Spotlight With Robin Roberts: Bright Lights. Big Stars. All Access Nashville. The ABC special gives viewers an unprecedented, all-access pass into the homes and private lives of country music's biggest stars, and introduces America to the up-and-coming singer/songwriters working to become Nashville's next hit sensations. The special will air November 10 on ABC at 10:00/9:00pm central.
Martina's Shine All Night Tour presented by SunnyD starring Trace Adkins kicks off November 20th and covers 40 cities across the U.S. through the spring of 2010. Both Martina and Adkins will each perform full-length shows. Visit www.shineallnight.com for tour dates, exclusive content and more.
Martina is currently nominated for CMA Female Vocalist of the Year, an award she has won 4 times, tying her with Reba McEntire for the most wins. The 2009 CMA Awards will air November 11th on ABC at 8:00/7:00 central.

Hey everybody,
I am going to NYC to sing for the Today show wedding! It is July 15 and I'm very excited to be singing my new single, I Just Call You Mine, for the lucky couple, Nick and Leigh. In light of this, Today asked me to write a blog about my thoughts on marriage.
I've been married to the same man, John McBride, for 21 years. When people ask me the secret to staying married, the most obvious answer is that I chose well. Or got lucky, depending on how you look at it. I married a man who is a great partner. He is thoughtful, kind, considerate. romantic, handsome, and really funny. We love each other's company, our personalities complement each other and we respect each other. He thinks I'm smart and funny and I think the same about him. We are a great team.
Not to say that either one of us is perfect! We both have faults. It's just that the good outweighs the bad by far. He leaves his socks and t-shirts on the floor by the bed. I am always late. He likes to have the radio on loud in the car while he's talking on the cell phone (that drives me crazy). I don't put the cap back on the toothpaste and my side of the bathroom is REALLY messy. But as he left the house this morning he asked me, "Is there anything I can help you with or do for you today?" And I will try (really hard) to be on time when we go out to dinner tonight. He is always happy to hear from me, even if it's his 100th call that day. And I will make sure he knows again today how important he is to me.
Yes, I chose well. Or maybe I just got lucky. Or maybe it has nothing to do with choices or luck. Maybe a love like this is just simply a blessing. I know that's how I feel. Blessed.

The Shape Cover with McBride, LeAnn Rimes and Julianne Hough is on Newsstands This Week!
It's widely known that Multi-platinum vocalist Martina McBride has always been in shape but this month the mother of three appears ON Shape - and is wearing a bikini! Martina joins country singers LeAnn Rimes and Julianne Hough to reveal their simple tips for staying fit, strong and sexy.
"I became fascinated with nutrition when I got pregnant with Delaney," says Martina during the group discussion. "I love to read about healthy eating and preach to my husband. Now I'm trying to teach it to my daughters. And it's working, because they all love green vegetables--like broccoli. And they should be able to have treats too. We should all have treats, just not all the time."
Another issue important to Martina is to promote a healthy self-image as well as physical beauty.
"When I do a magazine shoot like this," admits Martina. "I have to explain to my three daughters [Delaney, 14; Emma, 11; and Ava, 4] that it takes a team of professionals to do my hair and makeup so I look this way. I have girls who are concerned about how they look compared to models or what have you. It's my responsibility to teach them that beauty is more than superficial."
Martina and daughter Delaney have recently launched a campaign called "My Time to Shine" with the National Teen Dating Abuse Hotline. Teens and parents are encouraged to visit www.loveisrespect.org to find helpful tips on dating and healthy relationships.
CMT has announced the fans choice for the final nominees in the 2009 CMT Music Awards and Martina has been nominated for FEMALE VIDEO OF THE YEAR for "Ride"!

Hey everybody,
Okay. So I'm on the bus and here's what I'm thinking about. As you know, I've started to kind of get into this blogging thing. So much so, in fact, that just now I was taking off this face mask thing..you know, the kind that prevents wrinkles and whatnot...and I was thinking, "I should go on and blog about this face mask thing. And how my butt is kinda sore from my workout this morning. And how....". Then I thought, "What the hell?!". What is happening to me?
I should back up a little bit. Part of what brought this on was I had a great conversation today with a girl who is helping me with some of this internet stuff. Because, basically I am still learning about it. And I was like, "I'm not opposed to doing it. I just need some direction because basically it's a little bit like a foreign language to me." (Okay, my VERY country, cowboy kind of bus driver, Larry, is listening to Leona Lewis as I type this....freaking me out just a little. I mean, she's cool...but I just had no idea.... ). And she was telling me all about this stuff...and we started talking about Twitter. And she was explaining it to me and then she showed me some of the updates or posts or whatever you call them (see, foreign language) on her phone. And at first I was like, "I can do that...that would be fun.". Then I said, "I probably need to get me one of those really cool phones, huh?". She said, "Uh. Yeah.". Which was kinda like, "Yeah. Duh!". And then I said, "But here's the deal. I wanna do this stuff cause I think it's kinda fun. But if people are checking on their MySpace, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, ILike, email, IM's, and texting.....what does that leave time for? I mean it can become an obsession, right? And I'm just not sure I wanna contribute to that. I want to encourage people to read books, talk on the phone, hang out with their friends (in person!), read to their kids, throw a dinner party...get out there and LIVE! If I start doing all this internet stuff aren't I just contributing to something that I don't really agree with in the first place? I mean, then you start THINKING that way...."I think I'll write about this in my blog." And is it really even right that now everyone knows that my bus driver Larry listens to Leona Lewis? I mean, now is he gonna have people coming up to him and saying, "so, country boy, I hear you've been listening to Leona Lewis? (and I swear to God there was some rap music on before that).....So, needless to say people, I'm conflicted.
But I might get over it.
Later,
Martina
Hey everybody,
Just a quick note. First of all, I'm in such a great mood today! I had a couple of days of "the blahs" and that's no fun.
I got a call the other day that blew my mind. I got asked to go to the White House and sing at an event honoring Stevie Wonder! Can you believe that?! So, I get to go on Wednesday and sing one of his songs...I'm going to do a song called "You and I", which I have to admit I wasn't really familiar with. But it's a beautiful song and I can't wait to sing it. I'll write and fill you in on everything that happens. Oh, and it airs the next day (the 26th) on PBS so you all can watch.
Yesterday my day started with me being perky and awake on the radio at 6:30 am! I went to the studio and called some radio stations to talk about "Ride" and "Shine". Good thing I had some strong coffee. Then we had a meeting at RCA yesterday about the launch of the new album. So exciting. Lots of great ideas. I'm hoping my excitement is contagious because I CANNOT WAIT to get this record out!
Okay...guess that's it for now. Just wanted to share my White House/Stevie Wonder news.
Have a great week and thanks again for all you do for me!
Martina
Hey everybody,
Getting ready to get on the bus and head to Pittsburgh. Excited about singing our anthem before the playoff game tomorrow! It's supposed to be REALLY, REALLY cold and possibly even snowing at gametime! I'm trying to find a cute hat! Turned the album in to RCA on Thursday! I'm so excited. We have an album cover and a name. It's going to be called "Shine". I love the name. It's such a strong, powerful word. There are two songs on the record where "shine" is used..."Ride" and another song called "I Just Call You Mine." It's also kind of a reference to the song "Sunny Side Up." AND it feels like what I am going to do with this record....shine! So, now we just have to wait until March 24th! In the meantime we will have a video to watch....the video for "Ride" comes out on CMT and GAC a week from Monday. They will start talking about when they are going to debut it next week I'm sure. I'm doing a photo shoot on Wednesday, as well as a bunch of interviews. Pretty soon I will be everywhere and you will be sick of me! :) John had a great birthday. We went, with the kids, to dinner and then he and I went to see Grand Torino. Great flick. Guess that's it for now...need to finish packing the bus for tomorrow.
