"Matmos: another band you never know what to expect from. Usually the results are always good, though, as long as you don't mind the general category of "experimental electronica," whatever that is. So I just got this album and had it going on my iPod and this song comes on.. a mild tribal rhythm that serves as a backbone to a bunch of tape manipulations.. like the cassette version of record scratching.. and it eventually explodes into a great rhythm all too smoothly for me to believe it was not done live (or they're AMAZING programmers). Imagine the Master Musicians of Jajouka, Muslimgauze (R.I.P.) and Bryon Gysin having a jam session together. Needless to say, I had noticed that all the songs related to particular individuals and I knew that William S. Burroughs was on here and figured this HAD to be the WSB track. Sure 'nuff. :)"
