Jun 26, 05:53 PMEverything's Right on a radio near you!Summer Sun is right. It's muggier than the shelves at a coffee shop right now. does that work? That might have been a stretch. The windows of my house were literally covered in condensation yesterday, and I'm quickly remembering what summers in Tennessee are like.
I've been home now since mid-April, enjoying getting to function as a semi-normal human for awhile, whatever that means. We're in the process of trying to get Everything's Right played on the radio right now, and we're having some decent luck in some places- places like Minneapolis/St. Paul, St. Louis, San Francisco, etc, etc. Still working on Chicago- Chicago, are you out there? We should all plan on calling the station in Chicago at a certain time one of these days and just jam up their lines for a couple hours and see if we can somehow convince them that Everything's Right is exactly what the American public wants to hear right now. I mean, THINK ABOUT IT: we are totally escapists- we don't want to live in the reality of what is ACTUALLY going on- and, since everything ISN'T right in our country right now, what better diversion than to hear a song says that it IS! Ok, that's all the ranting i'm going to do for today. But also, with some of the radio success comes visits to the stations, so I may get to see some of you out there this summer at radio events.
I got to hang out with the guys in the band Parachute the other night with Barnesie. Parachute was opening for our friend Andy Davis, who put on one of the best shows i've heard out of my friends in a long time. He's a keeper, that Andy Davis.

Hey y'all-
Wertz here, trying to recover from 3, count 'em THREE consecutive downpours with my sunroof accidentally left open. I know, I know- you're thinking one of two things to yourself:1. Poor Matt, must be rough having a car with a sunroof, we feel REALLY sorry for you.
or-
2. Matt, didn't you learn after the first time this happened? We feel REALLY sorry for you
Either response is loaded with sarcasm, and yes, both have some truth to them.
Ok, so besides that, I have some really cool news to announce, ready? THE VIDEO FOR 'EVERYTHING'S RIGHT' IS FINALLY DONE AND POSTED!!
So, yes, Everything IS Right today. I don't know what y'all are getting into- some of you are finishing up finals, others are working the 9-5 gig, wishing you were finishing up finals (because that would mean a BREAK), and still others, (like myself) are playing golf and writing songs and sitting on their rocking chairs on their front porches. Whatever it is you're doing- you deserve a distraction, so check out the video on YouTube, or if you prefer, you can check it out on MTVu. I hope you're well, y'all. I had a blast seeing you on this last tour, and we're still trying to get 'Everything's Right' played on the radio, so if you know anybody, hook a brother up.

Hey guys-
So if video killed the radio star, what does it do to the guy who's NOT on the radio? We'll find out- I just shot a video for my song 'Everything's Right' and I'm super stoked about it! I got my boy Wes Edwards to direct it (he did the video for my song 'Carolina' too) and he did a killing job this time around too! We'll be putting this bad boy up online as soon as it's done- we'll keep you in the loop. Also, in the meantime, you can follow me on tour through this thing called Twitter. Have y'all heard of this yet? Check it out- I'm 'mattwertz' on there- go figure.
I want to also announce the beginning of what is sure to be a beautiful thing. Its called Wertz of Wisdom- just think of it like a magic 8 ball where you can get answers besides 'outlook not so good' and 'reply hazy, try again', from a REAL LIVE PERSON (me, actually).
Here's how it works- you film yourself asking me a question, upload it to the youtube channel http://www.youtube.com/group/askwertz and i'll film me answering your question and post it on the same channel for you and the world! fun, huh? You can ask me anything (well, almost)- if i dont know the answer, I'll look it up. Why ask me something you could look up on your own? I have no idea. So, maybe ask me something you can't find on Wikipedia...
Also- we need your pics. I know you have some, because I see you with cameras every night. Here's what would be cool- show me the behind the scenes pics- tell the story of how you get to my show, pics from the car, stopping to get food before hand, waiting to get in, contemplating which shirt to buy at the merch table- be creative! We're going to make a slide show of the Winter tour and want you to be in it! Click HERE for details.
