    Mel was just the greatest at what he did! For our first anniversary nearly twenty years ago, my darling late wife, Shirley bought me a copy of 'Mel TORMÉ Sings SUNDAY in NEW YORK & other songs about NEW YORK' which has a brilliant vocal rendition of Ellington's Harlem Nocturne on it - quite apart from the wondeful Rogers & Hart song (I'll Take) Manhattan. The man was the epitome of the 'Jazz Singer' and it was such a loss when he passed away.

    He is a fantastic singer, whose cds I can listen to over and over. I will never get tired of them. He was a great one. His voice is so full of joy and his songs have feeling in them. Whether it's a sad song or a happy song. Mel's great
