Presenters Announced
The Hall of Fame induction is just a little over two weeks away and we thought that you just might be interested to know that our friend Flea from the Chili Peppers will be joining us doing the honors of inducting us to the Hall.
As a refresher, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony will take place at Cleveland Public Hall on April 4, 2009, and will be televised live on Fuse and available on www.fuse.tv The 2009 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees were chosen by the 600 voters of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation . . . and believe it or not your first recording must be 25 years old or more (how can that be?!?!).
Our fellow inductees and their presenters are listed below:
* Run-D.M.C. will be inducted by Eminem
* Jeff Beck will be inducted by Jimmy Page (The Yardbirds, Led Zeppelin)
Bill Black will be inducted by Garry Tallent (Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band)
* DJ Fontana will be inducted by Max Weinberg
* Spooner Oldham will be inducted by Paul Shaffer
* Little Anthony will be inducted by Smokey Robinson
* Bobby Womack will be inducted by Ron Wood (Rolling Stones)

Mar 24, 10:21 AMBack to North America for Fall 2009European Summer Vacation, part 2,347 will end on August 2, so that can only mean one thing ... more dates in the U.S. and Canada! We just rocked Austin at SXSW and are super psyched that we'll be back in North America visiting our friends in the Fall as the World Magnetic Tour keeps rolling on. We had an amazing time on the last run in '08 and early '09 and we are so ready to do it again!

Or maybe drums are your thing . . . either way, if you're ready to take on the competition and be among the first to play Guitar Hero: Metallica, here's your chance. Starting Wednesday, March 18, there will be a three day "Metallica Madness" tournament at the Best Buy store in Austin, TX during the South by Southwest Music Festival.
High scorers on each of the three days (one drummer and one guitarist plus a couple of runners up to make the "elite eight") will then move on to compete Friday night at a special Guitar Hero: Metallica release party at Stubb's, also in Austin, TX. Friday night's shindig will include live music, a DJ, and we'll be hangin' there checking out your gameplay.

Those of you who were at Globen on Sunday, March 8 know that unfortunately James was ill that day and we were unable to perform. That show has now been re-scheduled for May 4, so hold on to your tickets and we're hoping that you can make it back...we'll be there!
The ticket that you have for the show originally planned for Sunday will be your entry to the Globen for the May 4th show. If for some reason you cannot join us on that day, please visit the place you purchased the tickets for a full refund.
Again, our sincere apologies to all of you who traveled from near and far to Stockholm. As a minor token of our appreciation, and hopefully to make up for some of your inconvenience, everyone who goes to the May 4 show will receive a free download of that night's show at www.livemetallica.com. As you enter the arena that night, you'll be handed a card with instructions on how to get your free MP3 of the show.

Feb 23, 10:34 AMGuitar Hero . . . Lemmy And King!In case you didn't guess already, our other close friend is none other than King Diamond! King says: "It's been absolutely amazing to be a part of this Guitar Hero experience. It was quite a trip to re-record the song 'Evil' almost 25 years after the original recording took place. The end result with four out of the five original musicians turned out so much better than I would ever have hoped for. Seeing my animated character take form was totally eerie in a very good way. It's so strange to see yourself animated in such perfect detail - cross bone microphone, Eye necklace and all. This game looks and sounds METAL all the way. HORNS UP!!! Check out the pix of King!
