The new version of the classic Manfred Mann track 'Blinded By The Light' was already produced a few years ago by German DJ Jens Kindervater. But a short while after Jens finished his demo version the Discoboys had huge success with their 'For You' track - which is also a remake of a classic Manfred Mann track. So he decided not to go with his track to avoid an image as a copy-cat. But his 'Blinded..' demo version was heard by the Sunloverz a well known German house production team. They convinced Jens to finish his track in a cooperation and sent it to some record companies. The German label KONTOR, which had also released the 'For You' track was very enthusiastic on 'Blinded..' and they asked Manfred Mann for a clearance for his original song - this was only a question of seconds after Manfred heard this new version. This was the beginning of the extremely successful story of the MICHAEL MIND project: BLINDED BY THE LIGHT reached the number 1 position in all relevant German dance charts and remained there for month. The follow up singles 'Ride Like The Wind' ,Don’t Walk Away’, and ‚Two, Three, For’ continued this success to be topped by the next two singles ‘Show Me Love‘ and ‚Bakerstreet‘ (a coverversion of Gerry Raferty’s 70s classic saxophone tune): ‚Bakerstreet‘ reached position 11 in the French charts which was the next big step into international business for the MICHAEL MIND project. The 7th MICHAEL MIND Single ‚Love’s Gonna Get You‘ climbed again on the pool postion of all german dance charts and entered also the sales charts internationally. Now topically the already eighth single of the project is coming up: Gotta Let You Go‘ is a House hymn again which shows all ingredients of typical Michael Mind Single and one probably needs no prophet to be to predict that the track will tie on singles seemlessly to the results of the seven predecessors.
