MIKE DIGG Biography “Mike Digg”the rapper as well as Co-CEO of KingstarR Records, songwriter, record and executive producer. Is no stranger to the spotlights he has been winning local talent shows since the age of seven and has recently been named VA’s hottest unsigned recording artist according to Clear Channel Radio Station D. J. Jack of Spade and several other top D.J.’s in the area, known for his flowed in a slow-like, southern fashion which can be heard in songs like “Clap”, “No Kin of Mine”, and “Wash Da Pain Away”. Mike Digg was raised in Norfolk, Virginia in the same housing development area that produced Bruce Smith NFL sack leader and no relation 12 year NBA veteran Joe Smith of the Philadelphia 76 Sixers. Music industry Virginia natives include Missy Elliott, Timbaland, and Pharrell of the Neptunes. With similar tenacity in 1999 he formed a group called Usual Suspects with another rapper from VA. The two went on to sell over 15,000 copies of their album independently and performed at venues from Georgia to Washington DC. Furthering his career he decided to go solo following the advice of various music industries professionals. January 8, 2004 Mike Digg became the first and only local artist to headline the NorVa a venue located in downtown Norfolk, VA. Since then he’s joined two partners and launched KingstarR Records. The partners are producers who have won various competitions including Top Producer’s in the seven cities area (December 2005 Virginia Pilot.) The competition was judged by Interscope Records Executives and Hot 102.1 FM Music and Program Directors. Mike Digg has filmed a Beta SP video ready for National Music video channels BET, VH1, and MTV he’s performing the smash hit “Babyphatt” which has earned critical acclaim on www.myspace.com/mikedigg with over 100,000 views featuring Buffie the Body who also appeared in the motion picture “ATL”, and XXL magazine Eye Candy of the Year. Mike Digg has opened for Juvenile, Trina, Clipse also headline with Mr. Cheeks. He is currently receiving spins and a backlog of requests on Clear Channel Radio Stations 103JAMZ and Hot 102.1 FM. The latest mix tape/CD titled “U Dig IT” Volume 1 sold over 25,000 units in a short time.
