Working-class, DIY punk rock. Born and raised in a small northern-canadian mining town, this is where my working-class DIY values were instilled. I've never had it to tough, but I've also never been handed anything. I've worked hard for everything I have. Fortunately I have an amazing family and friends that support me and have helped make me who I am today. (sorry if I don't sound 'punk' enough to some of you, cause I chose not to live on the streets or I'm not overly pist at anyone or anything... I just figure things could be alot worse...like for example...I could be over-seas fighting a pointless war makin' our so-called leaders, who are supposedly lookin' out for our best interest, rich) I spent countless hours jammin' with life-long friends, with which 2 of whom I relocated to Vancouver, B.C. with, as the band, Manikin Lifeguards (kind of a sabbath meets primus/chili peppers sound, if I had to describe it). These two opened my ears to many different styles of music, many bands that I probably never would have heard. For this I'll always be grateful. (thank you both...you know who you are) They've defiantely helped make me the musician I am today. Although very much musically in sync, (shit....cant believe i just said 'in sync') personal differences led to all of us taking time off to go our own ways. After wasting away a couple of years, 2 of us got back together to continue writing music. We each have played in other bands but have found that we had become musically spoiled by Manikin Lifeguards, the band in which we had total freedom to create whatever the hell we wanted to. Since then, our sound has changed somewhat, which has led to myself taking a different path, starting my own project, taking on the role of...well everything. Having started off playing guitar as a kid, but strictly playing drums for the last 7 years, I decided to pick up the guitar and start writing on my own. Spending literally every dollar I make and every second I have satisfying my addiction to create the music that I wanna hear...inspired by the many bands and musicians that have been the soundtrack to my life thus far.....a mix of everything from punk, funk, ska, rock, metal...and on and on...I even forced myself to sing, something I had never really done before. So this is it. Armed with your typical arsenal of punk rock weapons (guitar, bass, drums), a computer, 2 mics, dark somewhat soundproof room, a lifetime ahead of me, and an endless love for music, I finally feel satisfied that I'm on the right path to creating my own sound..........thanx to all that support me, all that have and continue to inspire me, and everyone that has taken the time to listen to the tunes and check out this page........ hopefully you've enjoyed the musical medley that will bring a smile to your face......and then make ya wanna slap it off of someone elses............ Live Long and Strong! Loud and Proud................... MIKE inc..............
