With over 15 years playing at clubs from London to LA, Miami to Sweden and Shanghai to Ibiza, Mikey Gallagher has made his career as a world class DJ. What sets him apart from everyone else, is his ability to work the crowd. This kind of talent you can’t learn overnight. It comes from a vast knowledge of music put together with the mind of a producer and then practiced over thousands of nights in the field. It’s this experience that enables him to make good records sound better, great records sound incredible, and everything he plays into his own. Drawing from sexy funked-up beats, twisted electro and thumping progressive basslines, it’s his understanding of timing and momentum in the mix that tease the crowd into a higher state, en-trancing the dancefloor, before unleashing a record that will have people not just leaping up and down, but howling with emotion. From humble beginnings playing to the après ski crowds in Val D’isere back in the early 90’s, Mikey soon progressed to playing big parties for the likes of Vivienne Westwood, Kate Moss and Sofia Coppola. This was backed up with a heavy schedule of nights on the UK Club scene for the likes of Ministry Of Sound, Miss Moneypenny’s, The Egg and The Cross. His affiliation with Ministry of Sound went further with a residency on the Ministry of Sound's Worldwide Radio Show ‘The Ministry Dance Party’ for 4 Years - his mixes lifting thousands of clubbers across the globe as they listened to his sets. He was also resident DJ on nationwide tours for Ministry Of Sound for their worldwide selling albums ‘Annual’ and ‘Clubbers Guide’ and co-hosted the popular MOS Express radio show on Ministry Of Sound Radio for 5 years. As a producer, Mikey has released tracks under many guises including: Blue Harvest, A Man Possessed, Munchman, Flashback and indeed Mikey Gallagher. His tracks have included a collaboration with US legend Robbie Rivera – ‘Club Wash’ (Wakko), The famous Guinness ‘Surfer’ ad sampling – ‘Black and White’ (Slinky), USA Club Anthem – ‘Plan B’ (Jellybean) and most recently the top 10 download hit ‘I Love Shanghai’. He also co-produced and co-wrote the Single Felon - Get Out which hit the UK chart and topped the DJ mag Club Chart. He has also produced Remixes for such Artists as Snow Patrol (Chasing Cars), Stonebridge, Melle Mel (The Message), Mory Kante (Yeke Yeke) and numerous labels including: Universal, Serious, Slinky, Delirious and Stoneyboy. Mikey now lives and DJs in LA and frequently tours overseas. He has a weekly radio show ‘Shanghai Sessions’ syndicated across the globe and is currently working on further studio projects for his label Shanghai Sessions Recordings. He has International tours lined up for Ministry of Sound, which will see him visit China, Canada and the USA.
