Maurice "Mo" Egeston has been the driving force behind some of the region's best bands for over a decade . He debuted as a leader in 1996 with Invincible Groov which held a residency at the Green Room- an early hotspot in St. Louis, Missouri's Washington Ave Club district.

National recognition began with his work with long time collaborator Dawn Weber in the bands Vargas Swing (jump swing), Urban Jazz Naturals and mo & dawn: the remix project. Vargas Swing toured for two years in support of their release "Fire" after being named the RiverFront Times best new band in 1997.

The year 2000 saw the birth of Urban Jazz Naturals which was the first band in the Midwest to truly do live and original house music and electronica.

Mo's work with UJN included the internationally released Urban Jazz EP (Large/Vista) with a remix by Demarkus Lewis; How Can I (Gallery) with a remix by JT Donaldson; and a self titled EP on CD and vinyl.UJN has been praised and supported by some of the dance industry's top artists and written up twice in Urb magazine.

In 2005, mo & dawn: the remix project saw mo emerge as a live beat producer. For the remix project he developed the concept of keyboardist as DJ manipulating sequencers, drum machines, F/X units, samplers and of course keyboards to create a continuous mix of beats, bass lines and harmonies.

mo & dawn released the remix project: Vol. 1 in 2006 and will be releasing Vol. 1.5 at a later date as mo & dawn take a pause from their 10 years of collaboration in 2008.
