Modicom first appeared in the shifting atmosphere of Adelaide’s music scene in mid-1998, when singer Nathan Korotkov and guitarist Sam Reid from local pop outfit wendyhouse, began a concentrated songwriting effort with cellist and vocalist, Zoe Barry. The three produced a unique sound that was often described as a type of 'experimental baroque'. Modicom expanded to become a five-piece, with drummer George Swallow and bassist Jed Palmer joining the band during the recording of The Icestorm, in early 1999. Now, for the first time, the Modicom time capsule has been opened for others to hear. Enjoy.
Sam, great to see you making music again. Can't wait to hear some. I'm living in France for the rest of the year, no doubt you'll be gigging hard still when I get back.

hello to all who may be looking at this page... yes, i realise there isn't any music on here yet... i will fix this in the coming days/weeks... i think i just got excited by the fact this thing is actually up and running, so prematurely invited loads of people to 'like' this band too... probably not the best PR exercise...
but anyway, the album should be available to download on itunes sometime late april for those interested... the time capsule will soon be open!
cheers
sam.
