Molly McGinn is a rhythm guitar player, singer, and songwriter in Greensboro, North Carolina. Drawing from musical influences such as Alt-Country, Jazz, and improvisation, McGinn creates a sound that is both pining and whimsical.
Previous projects include the Phish and Grateful Dead inspired jam band, The Alan Smithee Band; Ska-and-reggae funk with Mars Bound Mind; Alt-Country with Jostle Lee; and most recently, funk, grass, and soul music with Thacker Dairy Road based in Greensboro, North Carolina.
McGinn's first solo project "Girl with Slingshot," was written, recorded and produced in 28 days for an international songwriter's contest, the RPM challenge. Greg Griffith produced the album, with music and lyrics by McGinn.
