Mr. Kane, is an innovative pop rock emulsion; entertaining while possessing blatant quality and containing themes of memory, philosophy and self-exploration. Existing out of time as it is vivaciously new, with a unique old school edge – the sum is signature symmetry to the prolifically polished sound. It’s a solo effort in songwriting, production, editing, instrumentalisation, and creative sensation. It’s the brainchild of 20-year-old artist, Kane Churko. However, Kane isn’t about catch phrases and clichés. He’s about three a.m. wake up calls to inspiration and the subsequent studio time in his boxer briefs with a side of nachos. In 1998 Kane Churko started to turn tricks and create tracks on his first four-track. Residing in Canada, he had managed to craft a fledgling body of work that rang with potential but struggled with the confinements of circumstance and lack of experience. Thus, this is what Churko brought with him during his three-year stay in Europe, moving twenty one times, and finally habitating Switzerland. There he matured as a legitimate musician with a ridiculously professional home studio, and Kane began to own his talent. His experience as a self disciplined student and charismatic social figure transmuted into song. He has artistic ethics such as believing in “putting the art before its rewards,” and that “showing someone something so real to who I am in a form that they can interact with, is just a very pure thing.” – come from a strong line up of influences like the Beach Boys (Pet Sound / SMile) era, Johnny Cash, Spoon, Beck, Weezer, Blur, and NIN. Having worked in studio with acts such as Smash Mouth and Shania Twain, since his very recent relocation to L.A., Kane is a talent to anticipate. His lucid music tailor fit to soundtrack life is an insight to an observer – he is a true modernistic anthropologist. Without angles, but a spherically unique center ascending to a vibrancy so hot as to burn out the pollutants in the entertainment industry’s gene pool.
Bought your album today :) I'm having a hard time deciding which version of Nothing At All I like better, the free MP3 that I've had forever or the album version. hmm.
