Philly's new R&B female vocalist, Naeemah Harper. Naeemah Harper, is a singer/songwriter, with a rare tone and vocal style. Naeemah's love for music and the arts started at a young age as she starred in various school plays such as Porgy & Bess, Annie, A Chorus Line, etc. While attending Meredith Elementary school she joined a group called 'The Girlies', later known as 'Sonada' and her professional musical career began when the group was signed to Philly International Records by Kenny Gamble. At the time Naeemah was thirteen years old. In September, 1994 the group decided to part and Naeemah decided to continue her career as a solo artist signed to Philadelphia International Records. While signed to Philadelphia International she graduated from the School of Creative and Performing Arts. In March 1999, Naeemah signed with 2Hot Entertainment. Under the direction of Sheila Adkins, her debut single 'Da Habit', was produced by '2Hot' artist, Mizery., and co-written by 2Hot artist Slumlord and Shabang, along with Naeemah. It is the first single from her forthcoming album, titled; 'The Girl,' scheduled for release in February 2000. When asked to describe Naeemah's talent, Sheila noted, 'her unique vocal style and sultry sound is distinctive. Her sound brings a fresh new flavor to R&B Hip-Hop.' She is one of the most mature 21 year olds that I have come across in a long time. ' Naeemah has worked with various writers and producers. Ranging from Bunny Siegler and Dexter Wansel to DJ Jazzy Jeff and Paul Shabazz. Her single “Da Habit is getting great reviews, and she recently filmed the video for the song.
