Believe me when I say that he is one hottest things to look out for." - Dough Boy, CO-Founder Hang'em Up Records Born in the streets of Columbus, OH where a life of crime is reality, he adapted to his surroundings.Eventually going to jail multiple times and resorting to slanging drugs to make a living.He began rapping at an early age,so by the time he was in 6th grade,he was already writing albums for himself along with childhood friends Charm and Larry. Friends told him that his talent was unbelieveable and that he should do something with it. When he was 12 he decided to make this rap thing a carrer.Now with his own label he plans to take the streets by storm in 07. The area he was raised in (after he moved from Atlanta, GA then to Dallas,TX then back to the C-O) is Driving Park.It is an area on the near east side of Columbus Ohio. It is apart of the heritage district which consist of the Livingston Park corridor, and the Old Oaks area. Mainly a black neighborhood, The Driving Park and it's surrounding neighborhoods consits of an area of 17,644 residents. The areas boundaries consist of the intersection of Nelson St and Livingston ave on the east, Parsons to the west Mooberry street on the north and Whittier st on the south. Most of it's residents have lived in the area for years and is always referred to the "place where grandma lives". The area has a long standing place in the heart of the columbus black community. As the interstate 670 project corrupted and pushed thorugh columbus older black neighborhoods to the east, blacks migrated farther south. At one point the area was plauged by crime with the intersection of Livingston and Fairwood being dubbed "the hottest block in the city" by police in reference to drug dealings and transactions. The area was at once ran by the "bloods" gang and the gang still has a presence in the area. Altho some may say that the area is dangerous, most residents can sleep with their doors unlocked and not worry about crimes or home invasion. Most of the crime is inter gang activity and the area is pretty safe for it's residents. "It's just one of the things that come with the territory" says one resident. There are also more nicer housing on the south side of Livingston bordered by Frebis ave where middle class families reside. There is also a 18th century mansion on the corner of Livingston and Bedford which was a stop on the underground railroad. The area has many beautiful homes from the 18th century and more than half have been kept up by the residents. Reminiscent to other areas of Columbus such as Victorian Village and the short north, this area has beautiful mansions that go back to the founding of the city. The area is often forgotten in reference to it being known as a "bad area". The areas homeowners actually keep the community well. Livingston ave is the home to many black businesses as well. Once called "barber row" it is home to many hair,clothing,barber and beauty shops. On hot days, residents can be seen crusing down Livingston ave in their cars and on foot enjoying the day. To some the scene looks like "crime" but to the residents it's just another day on "the ave".
