Formed in July 2002,all four band members have shared similar musical ambitions and ideas since the bands inception, though within the band musical influences vary to a certain degree, ranging from Punk Rock, Scott Hagger/Guitar to Thrash Metal, Terry Craig/Guitar&Lead vocals, the two styles are a good contrast and compliment each others way of playing perfectly, maybe not introducing something entirely new but certainly competent and intriguing to the ear. David Wez and Lee Hagger(Bass and Drums) are both well seasoned and experienced musicians, both coming from previous bands that wouldn’t necessarily be pigeon holed into the Rock/Metal category, the two formed a tight and solid rhythm section fairly quickly. Originally formed by Scott who had recently quit old band ‘Feud’, he had a few ideas of personnel for his new heavier venture, and called on all three people the same day. Firstly Scott called David who was at the time doing vocals with the band ‘Lean’, with the intention of him singing in the band, but David instead decided to play bass in the band with backing vocals, and was delighted to get involved with a 4 piece Rock band again, having mainly been in bands playing softer material for some time. Lee had recently left his previous band ‘Inca’ for what he felt was a more prosperous venture and decided to also join his brother. Terry had been between bands for some time, although he was well known to Scott and Lee prior to NBE due to his local success with Witham band ‘Paradox’, he was also very keen to get involved with the band, his Guitar and Vocals being an integral part of the NBE sound. All band members were now invigorated and raring to go!… After months of writing and rehearsing new material the band felt that they were ready for their first demo, this would consist of what was considered to be the top 5 songs at this time. The band booked 5 days at ‘Stagg Studios’ in Witham during November 2003, this ended up being the 'Reign of the Nubourne' ep, songs recorded included: Said to the girl, Nite of mayhem, In a positive way, Their reality, Sometimes. With the recording completed the band designed and had printed an inlay for the cd complete with photos and jewel cases for the finishing touch. Cd’s were sold to friends and fans alike for £3.50 at gigs, predominantly to get the band known to a wider audience. Some months after the recording it became apparent that the band was producing higher quality songs with greater maturity in their song writing. The first of these songs was called ‘Call of absolution’, with the main riff written by Scott, the band added arrangement ideas and wrote the basic song during one rehearsal. Every song there after has propelled the band on with greater momentum and belief, latter songs include ‘Torn in 2’, ‘A taste of the end’ and ‘Elysium’, all of which show the band at their best and some of which would feature in the bands latest demo ‘Devout’ due for release in April 2005!. The bands attention to detail can sometimes lead to re-arranging or totally abandoning songs before completion, if the band feel the required level is not met, that is killer songs with killer riffs!. Only one song from the bands first demo remains a regular either at rehearsal or in the live set list (Their reality). Due to this the only songs played live are the best in the bands repertoire at that respective time, therefore ensuring a top quality live set list. How did the band come by the name Nubourne Error?, well for weeks and weeks the band were nameless, rehearsing and writing material until Scott came up with Nubourne Error, no-one can really explain what it means!?, think you have to draw your own meaning from it, but the band felt it sounded good and fits what they are about perfectly.
