Numb, a suburban rock band of Pittsburgh, though they prefer not to label themselves, is often compared to the sound of Creed, Staind, Stone Temple Pilots and Three Doors Down. Numb is composed of five members with varying musical affinities. The name "Numb" originated from the cold winter nights in which the band members diligently practiced, often until their feet became 'numb'. Nevertheless, each member contributes his life experiences and motivations to form a coherent sound that is distinctly unique to the band. The band has reinforced their ability to differentiate their sound from that of other rock bands, by producing their own original lyrics and music. This group of talented musicians started their history together about two years ago. Diversified in years of musical experience, the band was formed by means of mutual friendships. Lead guitarist, Mike Taylor and rhythm guitarist, P.J. Hixon have informally composed music for quite some time prior to the band's existence. They established the perfect combination of talent with the addition of Paul Johnson, the lead vocalist, Justin Lefevre, the bassist and drummer, Joe Elliott. The band has participated in a variety of events, including the local Battle of the Bands. They have been welcomed back on many occasions to establishments including The Beacon Hotel, in Renfrew, PA. They recently returned from New York, which has widened the band's professional opportunities. Although the band is currently composing their first album, they have recorded their first ep, which will assert a solid foundation for their album. In the meantime, the band continue to aspire towards developing music that their audience can relate to. Their first album is to be release in within the next year
