Originating from Sydney, Outgo was formed in June 2001 by long time friends who each shared a passion for music. Outgo has been able to develop a sound that incorporates the influences from each of its members resulting in an honest and authentic sound with an ever present sense of melody. Outgo has drawn their inspiration from all the great bands that have stood the test of time and endeavour to turn that inspiration into genuine and real songs. After establishing themselves in Sydney’s ‘live’ music scene, Outgo embarked on their debut EP and were fortunate enough to secure the services of Peter Koppes (The Church) as producer and sound engineer David Trump (Bluebottle Kiss, Big Heavy Stuff, The Church). By the end of 2003 Outgo’s 4 track EP tilted “Hope” was complete and is best described by its Producer. "The soulful music of Outgo inspired me to want to produce their EP 'Hope' and I am glad to have been able to help reveal the depth and beauty of these songs. Hope is a sentiment when undertaking projects and glorious has been this band's achievement.” Peter Koppes, The Church. Following its release, the “Hope” EP generated significant interest in the Sydney music scene with Sydney radio station FBI 94.5 placing the EP on high rotation whilst also having the band in for an interview. It was this interest that sparked the band to return to the studio, this time to record their debut album. The band again teamed up with Peter Koppes & David Trump to continue the successful collaboration that had occurred on the “Hope” EP. Having taken most of 2005 to complete, Outgo’s debut album “Smack Bang in the Middle” is due for release in November 2005. Similar in spirit to the “Hope” EP “SBITM” has a more polished and mature sound that is certain to attract strong interest from the music industry. Outgo is an ambitious band with a strong desire to establish itself in Australian music scene and also abroad. The strength of their debut indicates that it is only a matter of time before these ambitions will be realised.
