Beginnings:
PARALUMAN is one of the youngest bands to hit the Metro Manila stages today. Although the band is technically still a rookie in the industry, most of the members are already experienced musicians, coming from their previous bands. As such, they are still always eager and willing to learn the ropes and are taking every opportunity given them, paving the way towards their musical maturity.
Friends since childhood, it was their common interest in music that led them to form a band. Soon after, they found themselves making their rounds of bars, doing gigs for small productions and eventually onto much bigger events.
Their Music:
PARALUMAN’s music is daring and edgy, yet versatile enough to switch into mellow tunes whenever necessary. Madeline’s voice is smooth, rounded and quite enigmatic, mesmerizing listeners as Paraluman takes on the stage.
Rendering cover songs originally from artists such as Moonpools and Catterpillars, Plumb, Michelle Branch, D’ Sound, Paramore, and the like, the band makes sure that they are able to incorporate their own style to the songs, making it their own and managing to make it sound more interesting to the listening crowd. One great example of this is their rendition of Sharon Cuneta’s hit song Mr. DJ, which when played, never fails to invoke much appreciation from the crowd. Aside from these covers, Paraluman already has its own lineup of original songs which they play on gigs.
Paraluman writes songs which speak clearly of young minds’ experiences on love, whether it be confusion, joy, or frustration – emotions expressed on originals such as Emily, Slip, and Maghanap.
In between studying and finding time to strengthen their repertoire, Paraluman enjoys their time performing alongside other aspiring musicians, and fronting for major bands such as 6cyclemind, Sandwich and Imago.
