It was a dark and obscure night when PATH OF GOLCONDA first stirred their vessel into the chilling, hideous waves in 1999. Winter came and went but what stayed when the tide had fled were five waifs with badly tuned instruments and a vision. From the very early days on, passion and devotion represented the wind in the sails of this band whose first official vital sign was a live split CD with former times Underground entity Downstroke. It was inspiration and the foreboding of greater things to follow that made the first two Demos, ASTIGIAN and DEMONHEART - AN ANATHEMA TO THIS WORLD a success within the local scene, bestowing the band both loyal fans and several remarkable live appearances with bands such as Dimension Zero, Hypnos, Master or Zimmers Hole and a first little tour with long time mates Laid In Ashes in the following years. The fans were always not only convinced by the musical and lyrical output the band baited them with but also enjoyed with relish the twisted ideas PATH OF GOLCONDA came up with both live or with deranged remixes and mad merchandise. A vast step forwards was achieved in 2004 when PATH OF GOLCONDA recorded their first self-produced longplayer, DESTINATION:DOWNFALL with Andy Classen at Stage One Studio Germany. This output showed the musical development from ambitious, longish Black Metal inspired songs to more catchy, more thrashy but still epical masterpieces. This CD was also the first one to introduce Manuel, the new singer of Path of Golconda. The kicking out of the afore engaged vocalist was the only change of line up so far since the band always stress the importance of being real fellows and working together as friends. DESTINATION:DOWNFALL made 2005 the most successful year for the band so far: Many festivals could be haunted, even more excellent press reviews and interviews were got and misdone, new friends and fans were resurrected and uncountable pints have been drunken throughout the many shows the band appeared at together with Napalm Death, Hypocrisy, Die Apokalyptischen Reiter, The Vision Bleak, Ektomorf, Hatesphere, Arcturus, Unleashed and whatever have you more. It seems difficult to continue this palmy career within the storm ridden sea that business and everyday life are but PATH OF GOLCONDA do not care for every day life. They already got enough material to record their next album, THE THRESHOLD DIARIES, in 2006, impatient to finally release this beast onto the covetous masses.
