  • Gammal fäbodspsalm (Old Cottage Psalm)

A flute piece performed with live looping in order too play it orchestrated. One interesting point it that this is a complex chord progression based piece. Many live looping musicians think that you have to play in the same key and chord when using a looper, but that's not really true. I made this video to show how I achieve that in live looping. Different chords by live loops are created with two techniques: (1) by recording many live loops and (2) by re-tuning one live loop to turn it into a new loop. Also check out the cool "poly rhythm accidents" that happen in the middle breakdown part as the length and speed of the loops are also changed when I modulate the pitch of the loop. Example of the technique to record a chord and then keep changing the pitch of it by foot pedals to accompany a melody line you play over it.
