  I saw Petra way back in 1989. I still remember how much I liked their concert. I don't know if I was much into hero worship during my teens, but as someone who beginning to take faith very seriously, John Schlitt became my idea of what being cool while being a Christian as well, was. John Schlitt was dressed in a muscle top and denim vest. He did a bit of audience interaction, asking who was from Melbourne, and who had come from places like Ballarat and Geelong? I remember wel... I remember well, in a twist on the "Are you ready to rock?" that singers ask an audience, John Schlitt asked; "Okay, Melbourne. Are you ready to rock for Jesus?"

  I would love to see Petra do a reunion tour and get back together because the music of Petra absolutely rocks. I just became a Petra fan and realized they sound a little bit like VanHalen and Guns n' Roses

  I have been a Petra fan since 1982 (when I was 12). Through the years their sound has changed, but their impact and message has remained true. They never tried to be secular, they always wanted the ministry to be first. They are, and always will be, the most influential Christian Rock band.

  I saw John Schlitt perform in my very own hometown, Chennai, India. The experience was beyond belief!!
