Phil has been involved in the many aspects of the Bay Area music scene for the last 20 years or so. Playing in bands and duos, he has played area stages including the Freight and Salvage in Berkeley and the Sweetwater in Mill Valley. He is an active member of the West Coast Songwriters, managing the Songwriter Showcase at the Freight and Salvage in Berkeley and the CD tables at the WCS annual conference. Also, for a little over a decade, he has volunteered with long time Bay Area organization, Bread and Roses, hosting and playing shows in many Bay Area instititutions.
As member of the acoustic rock duo Pale Moon Sky, produced two albums of original music. One song from the CD "This Feels Like Home" was licensed to Miramax Television for a WB series.
Currently with the band "Country Grunge", Phil plays electric and acoustic guitars, bouzouki, mandolin, harmonica, banjitar, and various percussion instruments.
He has just finished his first solo album of original urban-folk songs. Intelligent lyrics and interesting instrument choices are part of the storytelling. The CD features originals and a few collaborations with some of the best indie songwriters in the Bay Area.
