STOP PRESS: POOL - She's Going Nowhere No.1 in the Garageband Pop/Rock charts!!!!!!!!!! Pool no.1 in www.peoplesound.com pop and rock charts. Also top mp3tv charts on www.now.com Pool's four members, Gavin, Mike, Sam, and Andy are from Liverpool, Birmingham, London and Sunderland respectively, each with very different backgrounds. This melting pot of diverse influences and experiences has created a unique style and sound which proves to be irresistible. Pop perfection meets pure rock'n'roll in the culmination of Pool's hard work: the debut album POPGUN. Pool took shape when singer/songwriter Gavin asked flat mate Michael to help form a band by picking up a bass and teaming to play sharpish! Mike found that he had a natural feel for the bass and picked up the songs in no time. Along came an exceptional drummer, Sam Kelly, and the three of them set off to play a couple of gigs in London and Liverpool to see how the material would go down. As it happens, they caused a storm, giving the lads extra momentum to acquire the services of Andy Munro, a lead guitarist who they knew was perfect from the first rehearsal. The POOL lineup was complete. The lads were spotted by a T.V producer and performed four of their songs on the Granada T.V. show HOT, a feat almost unheard of for an unsigned act. After two years of playing gigs in London and France (including the Fete De la Music in Nice to thousands) POOL set about recording their debut album which was eventually to be named PopGun. Wanting to show the diverse array of songs, three different producers were used: Steve Lima, Julian Hardwick and Jim Brumby, who have worked with The Charlatans, Brian Wilson and Robbie Williams to name but a few. POOL, with music ranging from Rock/pop to ballads to absolutely whatever they are feeling at the time of production, believe strongly that they shouldn't have to limit themselves to one style of music. One minute you will be taken in by the haunting melody of Love theme and the next kicked about in a song like The Liar. POOL have got everything. Pool have earned a reputation of being a shit hot live band and there has never been a truer word spoken. They can whip a crowd up into a storm and have them begging for more. Having just completed a U.K tour, they have gained more and more momentum as well as a following of dedicated fans. The four singles released from the album have had radio listings all over the country now including XFM, GLR, Radio 1 Scotland, Regional and student stations, and have had press reviews from Melody Maker, The Daily Express, The Fly mag. The Jewish Chronicle, Footloose etc. POOL are a red hot, shit kickin' band in the truest sense of the word ,so come and dive in...... The water's lovely.
