Every genre from rock to classical to electronica to hip-hop has influenced Rachel and her writing. Her piano work is more complex and musical than most singer-pianists signed to major labels, and through her lyrics and natural voice, she conveys an open mindedness and urges us to listen, find strength within, and conquer our fears. Having faced her own struggle in her youth to find a place in this world, Rachel knows fully well that her place is in music and is determined to last longer in this industry than one or two hits. She leads her own band, normally a trio, and they have performed in Boston and Cambridge at venues such as The Kendall Café, The Paradise Lounge, Virgin Megastore, Emily’s, Great Scott, the Middle East (Corner), Kirkland Café, and the All Asia Café. As a solo act, Rachel has performed at Ruta Maya Headquarters, Mozart’s Coffee Roasters, Flamingo Cantina, and Central Market Westgate in Austin, TX, and McGann’s and the All Asia Café in Boston, MA. In 2003, she recorded two fully produced three-track demos with several fellow musicians at Berklee College of Music, where Rachel is in her 4th semester and is a Professional Music major.
