After months of gigging, practicing and fast-food, Raised by Wolves stand on the threshold of the release of their first songs. Driven to rock ’n roll early in 2004, this four-piece alt. rock band has worked their hairy arses off, and their fresh sound and relentless gigging schedule has them on the tips of tongues everywhere. An extensive catalogue of songs from front-man and bassist Carl Addy initially provided Raised by Wolves with a vault of strong material to work with. Along with Graham Kent, Stefan Vos (guitars) and Matt Christensen (drums), Raised by Wolves have developed new material, putting it all together to convert the masses to a hairier way of life. And how they have succeeded in towns and cities all over their home nation, South Africa! Raised by Wolves have always had their eyes on current musical developments worldwide, making them one of the most internationally relevant bands around. Their sound benefits from the musical influences of each band member, but rather than drawing the music in disparate directions, their influences unite to create a sound that is unique but recognisable at once to those with their ears pricked up within the booming South African music industry. Bottom line: it’s all about good songs played well, a maxim which has seen Raised by Wolves take the frontline in their local alt. rock scene. Their live performances are aggressive but focussed, and their emphasis on tight playing has gone a long way to placing them even further up in the South African band rankings. Feared by their competition and loved by their audiences, Raised by Wolves are ready to take on the world. Watch this space…
