Rex Tangle was born in a small town in France. By the age of three, he expressed his interest in music by playing everything he would hear on the radio using one finger on the piano. Later in life, at age 10, after listening to the english band Status Quo, he wanted to play the electric guitar. And so began the future of Rex Tangle's musicianship.
Rex moved to the United States in his early twenties and spent 5 years in Chicago, as a bass player, playing with many bands, all with very different styles. From Rock to Jazz to Ethnic...
He moved with one band to Los Angeles, and just when everything looked like it was going to be easier, the band broke up. Rex quit playing in bands for a couple of years.
Eventually, he joined an English band, Zebra Crossing. After rehearsing daily, four to five hours and lots of succesful gigs, the band moved back to London, England, but Rex decided to stay in Los Angeles.
Short after that, he purchased enough basic equipment to create his own home studio, where he recorded over 300 tunes on various recording devices over a four year period, playing Bass, Guitar, Keyboards, Computer Programs, Samples, Percussions, and anything else he found around the house. The result is a mixture of different styles, mostly instrumental, with the exception of a couple of songs with lyrics or loops.
If you don't like one tune, listen to the next one !
