  Why do musical excerpts on Wagner's page include "In the hall of the Mountain King" by Grieg and "Also sprach Zarathustra" by Strauss???

  middlebrook, ure an idiot thats "king in the mountain hall" by grieg it comes from the opera peer gynt. Grieg btw is alot later than wagner, next time make sure u no what ure posting

  check out wnyc's radio lab podcast...they have a great episode called "the ring and i" which focuses on the ring cycle...brilliant stuff

  The Immolation Scene from Gotterdammerung with Birgit Nilsson singing the lead is one of the most powerful moments in music history. It is one of those moments I can only describe to be a religious experience.
