Who is Roadside Zoo? Roadside Zoo's been funkin', rockin', groovin', and movin' people in Michigan for 2 years now. Out of Ann Arbor, Roadside Zoo is perhaps best described as funk-rock, their music also encompasses elements from jam music and is coupled with a pop sensibility. There music is tight, complex, danceable, and always accessible. They pride themselves on positivity while not sounding cliched.
Currently, Roadside Zoo plays in the Ann Arbor area, and largely around southeast Michigan. They are starting to spread out, and are doing so with the aid of their first full-length CD, "Caleb Coolville." Armed with 12 amazing songs, this hour-long disc is already catching amazing reviews.
Perhaps the Zoo are best described by Roger LeLievre of the Ann Arbor News, when he says, "[Roadside Zoo seems] every bit as concerned with laying down an irresistable funk-rock dance groove as they are making solid, original music that engages the brain as well as the booty."
